A tech enthusiast with a vision for innovation and a knack for problem-solving
Get in TouchShane’s journey into the world of computers began in 2004. As a young, avid gamer, he spent countless hours playing everything from early console games to today’s popular PC games. His first home computer was the Apple II, but it wasn’t until late 2007 that he would return to Apple products. One pivotal moment in his early years was while playing Half-Life 2, a popular first-person shooter (FPS). Shane noticed that his computer wasn’t performing as well as expected, which led him to do some research—and ask his father for advice. His father suggested upgrading the graphics card and adding more RAM. This marked the first time Shane opened up a computer to see how its components worked, igniting a passion for technology that would shape his future.
In high school at Whitman-Hanson Regional High School, Shane’s interest in computers deepened. He took an HTML and Java class, which sparked a new passion for website creation. Shane spent much of his free time building websites and joined the school’s Computer Club, where he later won an award for outstanding performance. Though not widely known, Shane is also an average chess player and even placed second in a tournament. His strategic thinking and love of problem-solving in chess would later help him hone his programming skills.
In 2009, Shane continued his education at the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology, enrolling in the Computer Engineering program. This program provided him with the technical knowledge and hands-on experience in both hardware and software essential for a successful career in the computer industry. While at Benjamin Franklin, Shane deepened his understanding of computer systems, further fueling his passion for the field. He graduated with an Associate Degree in Engineering on May 21, 2011.
Shane continued his education at Bridgewater State University, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. During his time there, his love for programming grew, but by early 2013, he faced academic challenges and decided to leave the university to refocus on his career path.
Determined to earn a higher degree, Shane transferred to Curry College in 2013. He quickly excelled, earning a spot on the Dean’s List in his first semester. He later became Vice President of the IT Club in 2014. During his time at Curry, Shane gained experience in programming languages like Java, C#, C, and C++. In December 2014, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Information Technology.
Today, Shane continues to advance his knowledge and skills in programming, working on various side projects that include building and fixing computers, as well as developing apps and games for Windows PCs, Android, and iOS devices. He also has a growing interest in 3D printing, homelabbing, and building personal servers, where he experiments with networking setups to create custom solutions for his projects. Outside of his work in modern technology, Shane is passionate about retro tech and video game collecting, constantly adding vintage consoles and classic games to his collection. His lifelong passion for technology, problem-solving, and gaming drives his ongoing education and project work in the ever-evolving tech landscape.
